First Stratum 1 Timeserver Brought Online

Faelix have purchased a DCF77 time receiver to receive the atomic clock time signal broadcast from Mainflingen by Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt. This has been connected to a Linux server in the Faelix's head office.

After several days of testing, appropriate measurements have now been made to account for propogation delays between Mainflingen and Chorlton and the hardware latency of the Linux server being used, totalling approximately 34 milliseconds. This time server, c0.prv.dcf.s1.ntp.faelix.net is now available to Faelix hosting customers and select organisations.

Further DCF77, MSF and GPS reference clocks will be connected to NTP servers and brought online in the coming months. A full list of time servers available at Faelix is available from ntp.faelix.net.
